Tobin is your source for onshore directional well survey data covering Texas RRC Districts 2, 3 and 4, South Louisiana parishes and Texas Barnett shale counties, with more areas to come. All survey points are captured and made available in several ASCII, fixed-field formats for different G&G applications, as well as ESRI formats, or Oracle PPDM tables upon request. the Tobin Digital Directional Survey Onshore (DDSO) product includes complete directional survey information starting with the primary values of measured depth, inclination and hole direction.

 

Directional well surveys are the means of spatially locating a well's path in the subsurface. They are absolutely essential to locating all other forms of downhole well data (e.g., perforations, formation or reservoir tops, cores) as well as allowing corrections of logs and velocity surveys for distortions due to deviated drilling. Today, there are a wide array of interpretation and mapping applications that need and rely on having spatially correct directional well survey data.

 

Directional well surveys have three primary measured values: Measured depth down the well path, Inclination of the well bore and hole direction at each depth point. The calculated three-dimensional nature of the well path produces X, Y and Z values for the well path's E/W and N/S offsets, as well as True Vertical Depth (TVD and TVDSS). Tied to an accurate Tobin surface location, geodetic (lat/long) values, as well as delta latitude-longitude values are generated for points down the well path. Directional Well Surveys have other key survey attributes (run information) that is captured in order to properly reference and plot a well path from the directional survey. Tobin's Directional Well Survey data comes standardized and referenced to either True North of the location projection (Grid North), depending upon you application requirements. Tobin is the only onshore source of standardized directional survey data.

 

The Tobin Digital Directional Survey Onshore (DDSO) data is available on newly released wells in order to keep up with current industry activity, and data collected on historically drilled wells. Updates for this product are offered as annual subscriptions with updated delivered quarterly.
